A lot of backyards in central Wisconsin have the same problem - years of brush buildup, fallen logs, and tangled understory that makes the space basically unusable. You know it needs to go, but the idea of hand-cutting all of it is exhausting. That's exactly the kind of situation where forestry mulching does the heavy lifting.
Here's what we were working with on this Kronenwetter job. Dense piles of downed logs, overgrown brush, and thick tangles of branches taking over the wooded backyard area. The kind of mess that builds up over time and eventually just becomes part of the landscape - until it isn't anymore.
We ran our Bobcat T770 with a Diamond mulching head through the whole area. That setup is built for this - it chews through brush, small trees, and downed timber and turns it all into a layer of mulch right on the ground. No hauling debris off-site. No burning. The material just stays put and breaks down naturally over time, which is actually good for the soil.
What you end up with is open, walkable ground between the trees. The tall pines stay. The good timber stays. Everything else - gone. The space goes from being a wall of brush you can't walk through to something you can actually use and enjoy. For a lot of homeowners, that's a game changer.
Forestry mulching is one of the most efficient ways to clear a wooded area without tearing it apart. If you've got a section of your property that's gotten out of hand, this is the kind of work that gets it back under control fast.
