Here's what we were working with - dense undergrowth, fallen trees, tangled brush, and a wooded area that had basically taken over usable land. The kind of overgrowth where you can barely walk through without tripping over dead limbs and scrub. That's a common situation on a lot of properties around central Wisconsin, and it's exactly the kind of job forestry mulching was built for.

Forestry mulching handles all of that in a single pass. Instead of cutting, hauling, and burning - which takes time, multiple trips, and a lot of coordination - the mulcher grinds everything down right where it stands. Brush, saplings, deadfall, small trees - it all gets processed into a layer of mulch that stays on the ground. No haul-away. No mess left behind. The ground gets covered with a clean layer of material that actually helps with erosion and soil health over time.

The Bobcat T770 with a Virnig DRM mulcher head is what made this job possible. That setup is compact enough to navigate between established trees without damaging them, but powerful enough to chew through serious overgrowth without hesitating. We were able to open up a large section of this Mosinee property while leaving the mature trees standing and healthy.

What you end up with is completely different from where you started. Space that was locked up behind a wall of brush and deadwood is now accessible and usable. The area around the outbuildings opened up. Sight lines through the woods cleared out. The land went from something the owner had to work around to something they can actually use.

That's really the whole point of forestry mulching. It's not just clearing - it's unlocking land that already has value. If you've got overgrown acreage on your property and you're not sure what to do with it, this process is worth understanding. It's efficient, it's clean, and the results speak for themselves.
