This front yard near Pallen Lake had a real problem. Dense brush, tangled undergrowth, and fallen trees had taken over the space to the point where the property felt completely closed in. The kind of mess where you walk outside and can't even see across your own yard. That's exactly the situation we were called in to fix.

We brought in the forestry mulcher and got to work. What makes this approach different from traditional clearing is that we're not hauling anything off-site or leaving behind piles of debris. The mulcher grinds everything down right where it stands - brush, saplings, stumps, fallen logs - and leaves behind a layer of mulched material on the ground. It's clean, it's efficient, and it keeps the soil protected instead of leaving bare, exposed dirt everywhere.

The goal on this one wasn't to strip the land bare. The homeowner wanted more usable space without losing the wooded feel of the property. So we kept the mature trees standing and cleared out everything competing with them underneath. What you end up with is a completely different yard - open, walkable, and still natural-looking. The house is actually visible from the cleared area now, which wasn't the case before we started.

That's one of the things we get asked about a lot with forestry mulching - whether the end result looks too rough or industrial. It doesn't. When the job is done right, it looks like a well-kept wooded property, not a construction site. The mature canopy stays intact, the good trees stay healthy, and the clutter underneath is just gone.

If your place near the lake or out in the woods is feeling like it's closing in on you, this kind of work can genuinely change how much you use and enjoy your property. It's not a dramatic overhaul - it's just getting your land back.
