A gravel driveway that's rutted, uneven, or just plain worn down is one of those things that bugs you every single time you pull in. It's not just a cosmetic issue either - poor grading means water sits where it shouldn't, ruts get deeper with every rain, and the whole surface gets harder to drive on over time.
Here's what we were working with on this Mosinee job. A wide residential driveway that needed fresh gravel and proper grading to get it back in shape. We brought in the Bobcat T770 with both a bucket and a roller attachment - the bucket for moving and spreading material, the roller for compacting everything down into a firm, even surface that actually holds up under daily traffic.
That compaction step is where a lot of gravel jobs fall short. Dumping and spreading gravel without packing it down right means you'll be fighting soft spots and ruts again before long. Proper grading and compaction keep the surface stable, help water shed off the way it should, and make the whole driveway last longer between refreshes.
What we ended up with is a clean, smooth gravel surface that sits flush across the full width of the driveway - right up to the garage apron and out to the edges. It looks sharp next to the home, and more importantly, it's going to hold up the way a well-built gravel driveway should.
If your driveway is starting to look rough or you're dealing with low spots and ruts that just keep coming back, a proper regrading and fresh gravel application can make a big difference. We do this kind of work throughout the Mosinee area and surrounding communities.
