Overgrown hillsides are one of those problems that just keep getting worse. Brush fills in, scrubby trees take over, and before long the whole slope is a tangled mess you can't do anything with. That's exactly what we were dealing with here in Hatley - a hillside that had gotten way out of hand, running right alongside a driveway and surrounding a residential property.

The before shots tell the whole story. Dense brush, tangled undergrowth, birch saplings packed in tight, and zero usability. The kind of slope that's a headache to maintain and honestly just an eyesore. The homeowner wanted it cleaned up without turning the whole hillside into a dirt pile - and that's where forestry mulching is the right call.

We ran our Bobcat T770 with a Diamond mulching head across the entire slope. That combo is built for this kind of work - enough power to handle the steeper grade without tearing up the ground, and the mulching head grinds everything right in place. No hauling debris off-site, no burning, no big mess left behind. What was a wall of brush becomes a clean, open slope with the existing trees left standing and the soil still intact.

The end result speaks for itself. The hillside is open, the driveway edge is clean, and the property looks like it belongs to someone who actually has control over it. The mulched material stays on the slope too - which actually helps with erosion control and moisture retention. It's a cleaner solution than just cutting and piling, and the turnaround is fast compared to doing it by hand.

Forestry mulching is one of the most practical tools we have for overgrown slopes, brushy fence lines, and wooded areas that have gotten out of control. If your property has a hillside that looks like it did before we got here, we're glad to help sort it out.
