This property on Lake DuBay in Mosinee needed a driveway that could handle everyday use without looking rough around the edges. A lot of driveways out here get worn down over time - soft spots, bare patches, edges that have crept into the grass. The goal was a clean, uniform surface that looked good and held up.

We went with red granite gravel for this one. It's a solid choice for rural and lakefront properties. The color is warm and natural, it compacts well, and it drains properly so you're not dealing with puddles and washouts after every rain. It fits the look of a wooded, lakeside setting a lot better than plain gray crushed stone.

The grading work was done with a Bobcat T770 with a roller attachment - that's what gives the surface that tight, even finish rather than a loose, uneven layer of rock. Getting the base right before the gravel goes down makes a real difference in how long everything holds together. Cut corners on that step and you'll be redoing it a lot sooner than you'd like.

We also worked carefully around the existing landscaping near the road entrance. There's a decorative boulder culvert at the mailbox that needed to stay intact, and the driveway edge had to tie in cleanly without disturbing the surrounding lawn. Details like that matter - especially on a property that's clearly been well cared for.

If your driveway is looking rough or you've been putting off an upgrade, red granite gravel is worth considering. It's durable, low maintenance, and looks sharp on just about any property. We work throughout the Mosinee area and surrounding communities - happy to take a look at what you're working with.
